Team Ico Just Delayed Everything

And I mean everything. The Team Ico Collection (which has Ico and Shadow of the Colossus) and The Last Guardian have all been delayed. *sigh* My Ps2 is aging pretty badly, and it won’t be long before it bites the dust and stops working (it’s a 2002 PS2). I’ve never owned Ico nor Shadow of the Colossus (I do have the demo of Ico though). How much more longer do I have to wait for these two game to get released on the PS3? Till my PS2 dies? *hardsigh*

Fumito Ueda, director of The Last Guardian, stated in a letter to fans, “All the members of my production team are working together at a fast pace to develop and release the game in First Party Studio quality.” He goes on to apologize and states that he’ll announce new dates soon.*hardersigh*

My experience with Ico is also limited to my PS2 demo. I’ve always wanted to play the game and have been waiting for the collection…sad to hear that the wait is going to be longer now.

I don’t mind the extended wait, so long as the final products deliver. I’ve read enough about games releasing with so much dummied out data because they couldn’t make deadline. For the longer wait, I expect more features to be implemented.

Well, the term at least. We’ve all known about hidden data in games you can hack out of it for years, but it’s good to see a lot of it coming to the surface with people actually exposing some of the stuff people like me are too lazy to hack through.

If any of you guys have a burning need to play the games, you know I own both “Shadow of the Colossus” and “Ico”, right? I’d be more than willing to share.
Ah, the good old days. Remember when the first info was coming in on SOTC, and they kept referring to it as “Wanda and the Colossus”, since no one knew they meant “Wanderer”? “Wanda and the Colossus” sounds like a 60’s porn to me…

Actually, that would be a pretty cool idea. One of you guys could play/review the games from the PS2 perspective, and we can have a little compare and contrast thing going on when the remakes actually come out.

As tempted as I am to borrow Ico, I’ve been wanting buy the collection for quite some time, so I’ll probably wait it out and play the PS3 ports. Besides, already got a bunch of games to keep up with and get through as is. This delay actually could prove to be a blessing in disguise, giving us more time to get through the onslaught of games coming out recently and in the upcoming months, as well as help the developers cram all they have to into the collection.
