If Easing Myself Into The 3DS Was My Goal, Getting This Game Was A Dumb Move

SMT Jack Frost

Let me start of by saying that that the game I chose is not a bad game. It’s actually a damn fine game. No knocks on quality here.

Anyway, around two weeks ago I decided to finally get a 3DS. My late arrival mirrored many who waited it out on getting a 3DS. The price for the system itself was simply too high for my liking, and I waited for a price drop. It happened, but I still wanted to see if something else was going to happen, namely a console redesign of some kind. I’ve been burned before by launch units and I didn’t want to get shafted again.

Atlus To Reprint Both Raidou Kuzunoha Games For The PS2

Raidou's back

Even though the PS2 is dead, its legacy lives on as sources tell Siliconera that Atlus will be reprinting both Raidou Kuzunoha games on the PS2. Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Souless Army and Devil Summoner 2:  Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon were both released near the end of the PS2’s lifecyle, 2006 and 2009 respectively. And since these were Atlus games, they became very rare to find, especially the second game that came with the Raiho plushie. They’ve also gotten mighty expensive.

Some are wondering why reprint them instead of making them PS2 classics. Well, it’s kinda hard to pinpoint an answer as both have their strengths and weaknesses. Releasing it as a PS2 classic could make the game much more available to everyone, but some might want a physical copy considering how hard these two are to come by. With a physical copy, people will get a second chance to get these games, but might prefer to play them on a PS3 as a PS2 classic (since these are the original PS2 games and all later models can’t read PS2 discs). There’s also the fact that PS2s are no longer being made.

Regardless, now’s your chance to get these games if you missed out. Both will be $30 each. Unfortunately, you get no second chances to get Raiho.

Raidou Kuzunoha Returns, Atlus Is Reprinting The PS2 Devil Summoner Games [Siliconera]

A Pair Of Shin Megami Tensei News To Wet Your Appetite

If you have forgotten about it, here’s a reminder that Persona 2: Eternal Punishment will be hitting the PSP in Japan soon. Atlus has released a new trailer for the game and showed bits of gameplay as well. From the looks of it, it will stick to what made Innocent Sin a fun, old-school romp. Admitedly, I don’t know much about Eternal Punishment outside of only knowing it was the only Persona 2 game released in the U.S. back then. So I was surprised to see that Nanjo, the rich guy from Persona 1, will be in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. Maya will take over as the main protagonist with Tatsuya Suou playing a scondary role. Katsuya Suou looks like he’ll play a bigger role as well. Madhouse will be doing the intro for Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. Satelight, the studio that did Innocent Sin‘s intro, will be busy doing the intro for the next game I’m going to talk about.
