Persona 4 Anime in the Works

After the recent tease, it’s finally been confirmed…Persona 4: The Animation is happening. The official website is up with some information on the series, along with a trailer you can view further below.

Seiji Kishi, director of Angel Beats!, will be directing the anime with AIC ASTA behind the production. Shoji Meguro is credited for the anime’s music, but it’s unclear as to whether he’ll be providing new tracks or if the music from the game will be used. You can also see four of the main characters on the site if you’d like to familiarize yourself with the cast.

I can’t help but notice that the main character’s name is now listed as Yu Narukami on the website. I actually prefer the name he was given in the manga, Souji Seta, but maybe that’s just me. Nitpicking aside, I enjoyed Persona 4 very much and think it was a fantastic RPG for the PS2 era to end on. I’m just hoping the anime will do the game the justice it deserves.

Catherine Gets Voice for Katherine

We first got the voice for Vincent. Then we got the voice for Catherine with a “C.” To round out this holy trinity, Michelle Ruff will be voicing Katherine with a “K.” Ruff has done voices for C. Viper from Street Fighter IV and Yukari from Persona 3. To our Anime people out there, she’s also done voice work for Bleach, Code Geass, Haruhi, and Durara!!

And so that’s the main cast. As Destructoid pointed out, Vincent, Catherine, and Katherine are being voiced by Persona 3 and 4 veterans. They’ve done some great work on those games, and I’m certain they won’t disappoint for this entry.

Devil Survivor 2 in the works, already 95% done

The week’s Famitsu revealed that Atlus is currently working on a sequel to Devil Survivior, a DS RPG released in 2009. Not only that, but Famitsu lists the game at being 95% complete! The story follows three classmates who gain the power to summon demons. They must use this power to stop mysterious entities known as the Septentrion, who attack Japan one Sunday and follow suit each day after. The cast only has seven days to stop them.

Catherine’s title character voiced by Laura Bailey

My turn for some Catherine news!

Our title character is voiced by a certain Laura Bailey, who has voiced a number of my favorite characters.  Hewpoe from Klonoa and Kaine from Nier are the first to come to mind… but I’m weird.

Oh and she was Oboro from Basilisk, one of the few well dubbed anime I’ve encountered.  I was not extremely hyped for Catherine at first, but now I’m really starting to look forward to it!

Review: Radiant Historia

Radiant Historia is Atlus’ latest role-playing game for the Nintendo DS. This time traveling adventure about the world’s grim future, a raging war for power, and the journey to set history on its true path, takes from the RPGs of the past and puts a new spin on them. The result is a deeply engaging story with fun and creative gameplay that may prove to stand the test of time.

Troy Baker Revealed to be the Voice of Catherine’s Vincent

Troy Baker has recently been hinting at this on his Facebook page and now it’s finally confirmed. Baker will be lending his voice talent to Atlus’ Catherine, voicing the protagonist Vincent Brooks.

You may know him as Tales of Vesperia’s Yuri Lowell, Snow Villiers from FFXIII, or Persona 4’s Kanji Tatsumi. Troy Baker will add Vincent Brooks to his already extensive list of voiced roles. Personally, I’m a fan of Baker’s work and think he’ll do the character justice. Atlus usually is spot on when it comes to voice work, and knowing Baker’s involvement in the game only gets me that much more excited for its release this summer.

As an added bonus for Soul Eater fans, here’s a clip of Baker singing the infamous Excalibur song.

Did I mention I can’t wait?

Catherine Coming to the US

Atlus are such terrible liars. After saying that they had no planes to release the game in the US, a little cryptic message popped up asking gamers, “Do you still like us?” If that pink background was any indication, then they really suck on the subtlety front. Currently Catherine is planned to be released this Summer (Though Gamestop seems to know when exactly). I did try out the Catherine demo, and it’s a quirky little game, and freaking difficult! But that’s okay, this is Atlus we’re talking about.

Atlus released a trailer for our viewing not too long ago. You can see it below.
